Ligonier Valley ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIPs

 

Eligibility requirements and application guidelines specific to each scholarship can be found on The Pittsburgh Foundation website. Be sure to include required evidence such as academic record, community service, and letters of recommendation.  All applications must be submitted electronically at the site. Please click on this link.  Immediate family members of any person currently serving on the Ligonier Valley Endowment Board of Governors are ineligible for all LVE-sponsored scholarships.

The Thomas and Nancy Donchez Scholarship​

For graduating seniors from Ligonier Valley High School planning to attend a four-year college and major in education. 


The Mary L. and Thomas Gantz Scholarship

For graduating seniors from Ligonier Valley High School planning to attend a two- or four-year college, or vocational or technical school. Preference will be given to a well-rounded student, as defined by being involved in a variety of activities such as athletics, the arts, community service, clubs and organizations, spiritual life, and/or employment.


The Ligonier Valley Endowment Scholarship

For graduating seniors residing in the Ligonier Valley School District planning to attend a two- or four-year college or technical school.


The Carmen Joseph Marotta Scholarship

For students residing in the geographical area comprising the Ligonier Valley School District for at least five years.  Attend a graduate program in veterinary medicine or pre-veterinary coursework and are currently in or have completed their fourth year of college.  If there are no applicants who meet this criteria, current undergraduate students pursing studies in an engineering field may be awarded this scholarship. 


The McMullen Family Scholarship

​For graduating seniors of Ligonier Valley High School planning to attend a two- or four-year college or university, or an accredited vocational or technical trade school. Demonstrate commitment to their community, school, or charity/nonprofit organization through community service and have verifiable volunteer experience within the past three years.


The R.K. Mellon Family Scholarship

For graduating seniors residing in the geographic area comprising the Ligonier Valley School District who are planning to attend a two- or four-year college or university or an accredited vocational or technical trade school.


The Patricia Urban Memorial Scholarship
For graduating seniors of Ligonier Valley High School planning to attend a two- or four-year college or technical school. Demonstrate financial need and are involved in community service.
